In the sphere

Everyone is born in a sphere. Since we are conceived, our life begins to develop and take form on the inside of a sphere. It protects us from a hostile environment that threatens to alter our state of secureness. We need the sphere. We then move to a bigger sphere. For some people it is just big enough to fit themselves, for others it may be a lot larger. The sphere can grow bigger and, of course, we can always move to another sphere, more suitable for our needs. But the fact is that it’s still the same habitat which we refuse to call a prison. It exists because there are so many things we do not want to be a part of our lives, it exists because we are too afraid to face them and deal with them. In the sphere life goes on guided by some kind of ideal purpose, the sphere takes good care to keep it unaltered, vivid and meaningful. So you follow along. Self-assured, convinced that life works in that particular way and no other.
We can sit still enjoying our world of adequate elements, acting together to transmit the image of a life of satisfying proportions, projected on the walls of the sphere. But what do we do when something we did not expected crosses the limits and comes in? How to react when the sphere can no longer provide us of it’s safety? A person can be as strong as anyone can be, but what happens is that ideal life goes down piece by piece. The sphere has gotten too big for you to control it.
There are some who realize the way the sphere works. That at some point we need it in order to grow, but after some point we need to take it down, because it keeps us from knowing the whole. Otherwise we stay still, alone, we suffocate our own emotions asking to ourselves how things would be if we weren’t alone. When we leave a sphere we start to understand that we are not alone, but we learn to look for the sphere, each one is more difficult to be found, to be understood, but it’s there protecting us, telling us where our limits are. The world is just another sphere, protecting us till we are prepared to understand that we are not alone, challenging us to discover the next sphere.
